The days are getting longer, flowers are starting to bloom and trees are getting fuller. April showers have officially brought May flowers! Here’s a look back at what we were up to during the winter months and some things to look forward to in the next few weeks.

Flowers para mamá!

We want to celebrate all mothers and motherly figures out there for their constant support, unconditional disposition, and selfless love. Join us at the shop for beautiful edible blooms in our Lawttes on Friday, May 10th and Saturday, May 11th only (while supplies last)!

¡Feliz día mamás!

Summer Drinks
Launching summer drinks in early May feels too early. We prefer to wait for authentic summer weather. Stay tuned for updates!

Conny’s Affogato

We are partnering for the third year in a row with Conny's Creamy Cone to offer Affogato! Affogato is a sweet treat of espresso poured over vanilla ice cream. Although it’s Italian and not a Latin American tradition like most of our products, we made an exception since it’s so delicious AND for the chance to collaborate with our neighbor, Conny’s Creamy Cone.

Don’t miss it and stop by the shop for the first Conny’s Affogato only during Memorial Day weekend. Affogato will be available starting Friday May 24th thru Monday 27th.

We look forward to seeing you at the Shop!

Caterings

The Minnesota Supreme Court heard moot court arguments at the University of Minnesota Law School and we brought drip coffee, cold brew, and iced tea for all.

Pen-Law got a chance to connect with Associate Justice Karl Procaccini, who is running for reelection. Check out his campaign and sign up to be his public supporter here.

Also, during the Spring Semester we had a Coffee Pop-up stand for several weeks at the University of Minnesota Law School. We are grateful to all students, staff, and faculty for opening a space to share a cafecito! ♥️

Keep us in mind for your catering needs. Big or small, we can handle it all!

Coffee & Chocolate Expo

Last month, we had the opportunity to participate in the Coffee & Chocolate Expo in Puerto Rico, also known as La Isla del Encanto. We learned about the regions where coffee is grown on the island and how farmers are embracing sustainable practices. And, of course, we indulged in plenty of cafecito tastings.

Puerto Rico boasts a vibrant coffee culture, revolving around meaningful conversations with family and friends. The Expo was a resounding success as it provided people with the chance to come together and enjoy a cup of joe.

Business 101

During the first months of the year, we participated in multiple high school career fairs with the purpose of teaching students how to start a business. We live in a society where getting a job is encouraged during high school and college, yet nobody teaches how to start your own business. We are on a mission to change that!  We treasure opportunities to speak to students about business or law.

¿Me das un café descafeinado, por favor? - Can I have a decaf coffee, please?

We have the yummiest decaf in town!  Water process, USDA organic, fair-trade and produced by women, our Perú Roast is smooth with ripe flavors and caramel-like body, resulting in a genuine coffee flavor without the caffeine. (Inti’s favorite!)
